The Daily Prompt at WordPress.com this morning is Me Time. I admit to having a degree of self-obsession. But sometimes it radiates out the back of my head and encompasses the world. And I’m introverted as well.
Welcome fellow introverts. Extroverts to the back of the line. Don’t worry, we will still be able to hear you back there.
So it’s Saturday morning. Me Time! What does that involve? I enjoy walking and jogging in the morning. If it’s a lazy day (like today) I go about six miles. If I’m feeling ambitious it’s the eight mile path. And when inspiration dwells within it is ten miles or more.
Then it’s back home for a shower and some reading online (of course). Or, maybe an audiobook. I’m listening to a long one about the life of John Adams this week. It’s pretty good actually. They made a mini-series out of it.
Betsy is putting up the Christmas tree this morning. I helped her take it downstairs from the attic.
Oh, and here’s the part where things begin to radiate outwards (towards readers like you!). I take a bunch of herbal foods and vitamins in the morning because they (hopefully) will eliminate inflammation in my body. There are a lot of folks out there with a lot of illnesses related to inflammation, cell damage and chronic conditions. It’s an interesting topic and you can read about it here. There’s a site that will give you an inflammation number on a great many foods here. I had to give up mayonnaise, for example, because it has an inflammation factor of -450. Carrot juice, on the other hand, is around +450. It was not a happy substitution, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
If you want your Me Time to be happy as you age. Aging is another topic we should address. But not today. Let’s just be happy sharing our own little adventures. I did look at some of the other entries about this topic and immediately found one with a breakfast sandwich somebody cooked up. It was full of sausage, eggs, grits, bacon, etc. It was probably a -1000 on the inflammation scale. But it really looked good!
